Today we are beaming up the disability rights educator Win Charles. Born with Cerebral Palsy, Win Charles has defied the odds by becoming an author. Her memoir I, Win is a fantastic story of how she remembers her life through the years of having a condition called "CP." As a competitor in the Kona Iron Man Triathlon, CEO of her own jewelry design company, and motivational speaker, Win Charles truly is a role model to many. Today Win Charles tours the country, speaking to schools and institutions to raise awareness about cerebral palsy and living a full life no matter what holds you back. She is also an advocate for veterans across the world.

He has a Servant Based Leadership background and 15 years in Project Management. In that time, he has helped hundreds of people find their paths through chaos to find their purpose. Now he uses these skills to help clients between the ages of 25-55 who suspect they have or have been diagnosed with ADHD. He works with them to figure out their particular issues by going through a process of self-discovery. He helps them discover how to use their strengths and create systems to manage their ADHD in their life, relationships & careers.

Today we are beaming up a friend and colleague, Stacie McGee, LMSW-IPR, to have an honest discussion about her perspective on higher education and disabilities. Stacie McGee received her BSW from Texas State in 1992 and her MSW from OLLU in 1994. McGee has been Lecturer at Texas State University since 2006. She has worked in geriatric outreach, residential treatment, juvenile justice, program development, administration and grant writing, public school social work, and with pediatric and juvenile different abilities. Stacie is also on the board for The National Association of Social Workers-TX and is the Operations Director Board Member of Bobcat Pride Scholarship Fund (BPSF). The BPSF Jeremy O. Torres Emergency Stabilization Fund provides monetary support to emerging adults (ages 18 to 25) with minority sexual and gender identities (LGBTQIA+) residing in the Greater San Marcos area.

Hey there Earthlings! This week on The D.A.N.I. Project, we beamed up policy expert Alison Mohr Boleware, LMSW. In this episode, we discuss policy advocacy and disabilities! Tune in to learn more about the legislative process, advocacy, and how you can become a steller advocate for disabilities and other issues you care about! 
Mrs. Mohr Boleware is a sixth-generation Texan and currently serves as the Director of Policy at the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. She began her career as a Policy Fellow at the Foundation and is honored to return to her roots and work toward mental health and wellness for every single Texan. Alison most recently worked as the Government Relations Director at the National Association of Social Workers. In her role, she fought tirelessly for social workers and social justice at the Texas Capitol, advancing a legislative agenda representing the spectrum of social work, including policy issues related to social work licensure, the mental health system, Medicaid, immigration, LGBTQ+ rights, and more. 
Alison previously worked as a Health Policy Analyst in the Governmental Affairs Department of the Texas Medical Association. Before her time at T.M.A., she started her career as a Policy Fellow for the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health, participating in the Hogg Mental Health Policy Academy. During the 84th legislative session, Alison served as a Legislative Aide to former State Representative Elliott Naishtat, a social worker, and staffed the House Human Services Committee. Alison is a Licensed Master Social Worker and received her Master of Science in Social Work from the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin with a Community and Administrative Leadership focus. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, minors in Sociology and Asian Studies. Alison enjoys reading, long walks with a pop culture podcast, and yoga.
